This assumes in the Rules section of the Directory Assistance db you have the rules lines turned to "yes" for authentication.
To allow POP3 access do the following in the Notes.ini or add parameters in the R5Administrator configuration view - open "All servers" or your mail server(s) and add the following ini parameter:
INET_AUTHENTICATE_WITH_SECONDARY=1
That should allow POP username authentication using either "Jane Joe" or "Jane Doe/Domain" as the username.
