Issue:
OSX Mavericks had yet another hang. An OpenOffice document was open when it happened this time. When restarting OpenOffice after the reboot, a dialog comes up saying, "
The last time you opened OpenOffice, it unexectedly quit. Do you want to reopen its window again.
" Below are buttons asking whether or not
Reopen
/ Restore windows or to
Don't reopen
/ restore windows. Regardless which button you click, you are stuck and neither button works.
Solution:
1. Quick Solution
(Works most of the time.)
Hold down Shift button when launching OpenOffice. The application should load normally, and the dialog box won't be displayed. Then Quit OpenOffice and restart normally and confirm the dialog is still gone. (It should be.)
2. Long Solution
(if the #1 option above didn't work.)
Delete the org.openoffice.script.savedState
/Users/<myuserloginid>/LIbrary/Saved Application State
Note:
Don't go to the global Library folder for OpenOffice. Go to your PERSONAL folder.
Hold down Option when clicking the "Go" option, within Finder to view system folders.
